MGIC's SmartPath program is a unique initiative that provides reduced-cost mortgage insurance to borrowers who complete homebuyer education and counseling prior to purchasing a home. MI costs can be reduced by as much as 10% for borrowers who meet the program's prepurchase education and counseling requirements.
Borrowers are rewarded with lower premiums because they have completed sufficient homebuyer preparedness training and generally are better prepared to make wise financial and credit decisions and maintain long-term homeownership.
